AIR NAMIBIA UPDATE

VIERANAS SAFARIS just received the latest update from Air Namibia on their flight distruptions due to the volcanic activity in Iceland, herewith the update:

MONDAY 19 APRIL 2010 : 11H00 NAMIBIAN LOCAL TIME

As all other airlines Air Namibia must comply with directives issued by relevant authorities in the aviation industry. Due to the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland which has left many European countries’ airspace restricted, Frankfurt too has been affected. In Germany all airports have shut down. All arrivals and departures from these airports have been cancelled until further notice.

A reliable forecast regarding the airspace restrictions is still not available. Air Namibia was compelled to suspend all flights scheduled since Friday, April 16th 2010, until further notice.

We request Passengers not to travel to the airports and to contact Air Namibia.
